A Land Snail is any snail that lives above water and/or primarily on the suface.
There are almost over 35,000 different species of land snails and most of them breathe oxygen. They are commonly found in tropical regions but can also be found in cold climates. Land snails move and crawl around by using their mucus to help them traverse over surfaces and to keep themselves from drying out and dying.
Land Snails typically live up to a year on average but some species can live up to 10 years.
Most land snails are hermaphrodites and have both sets of female and male reproductive organs to mate and lay eggs with.
The snails can lay up to 100 eggs and the eggs are usually just a few millimeters wide in diameter. After a few weeks the snails hatch, emerge, then eat the egg shell for nutrients.
